When a part has to be drawn rather than simply bent, ordinary commercial quality galvanized coil will fail. This deep drawing galvanized steel coil is produced on a fully annealed DX53D+Z substrate with fine grain structure, elongation of 12 to 25 percent and a low yield to tensile ratio, so that the zinc coating stretches with the steel instead of crazing. It is intended for parts with drawn cups, deep ribs, embossed panels and multi-stage progressive die work, in thickness 0.4 mm to 1.5 mm and widths up to 1250 mm.
We control the annealing cycle, the skin pass elongation and the coating structure together, because formability in a coated product is the sum of all three — and a perfect substrate with a brittle coating will still crack in the die.

Deep drawing galvanized coil goes into automotive brackets and reinforcements, washing machine and dryer drums, sink and basin shells, gas burner housings, fire extinguisher bodies, electrical box covers, seat frames and complex HVAC fittings. Whenever a press tool draws a shape more than a few millimetres deep, formability becomes the governing property — and the cheapest commercial coil is no longer the cheapest part.
Customers using this grade typically want to eliminate intermediate annealing or a switch to cold rolled plus post painting. The right coated drawing grade allows them to form the finished geometry in one operation while keeping the corrosion protection that the application demands.
Each coil is wrapped in VCI anti-corrosion film, covered by a layer of waterproof kraft paper and a galvanized steel outer skin, then secured with three circumferential and two longitudinal steel straps on a fumigation-free plywood pallet. Eye-to-sky or eye-to-wall orientation is confirmed against the buyer's unloading equipment, and a desiccant pack is added for long sea voyages.
Coils are loaded into 20ft or 40ft containers with timber dunnage and air bags to prevent shifting. Every shipment is accompanied by a mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1, a packing list and a coating weight report. Third-party inspection by SGS or BV can be arranged before loading.
We have worked with stampers on draw grade coil since 2008, and we can supply trial coils of 1 to 3 tons so that a tool can be proven before a full lot is committed. Our metallurgists will review your part drawing and propose grade, coating weight and lubrication, and we can report n and r values for simulation input.
The mill operates under ISO 9001:2015. If a trial shows cracking, we investigate the forming conditions with you, adjust annealing or coating parameters where the cause lies with us, and replace the coil rather than leaving a new project stalled.
